Lone Tree

Lone Tree is one of the newer incorporations in the metro area. In 1995, voters approved the incorporation of the city by a wide margin after having decided they wanted more control over the commercial developments going on around the area. Lone Tree is in Douglas County and has a current population of just over 13,000. The city offers a wealth of outdoor recreational locations with a large network of hiking and walking trails. Bluffs Regional Park’s 2.7-mile loop offers some of the best views of the city anywhere. Residents love the small, friendly sense of community as well as the outstanding schools, which are part of the highly regarded Douglas County School District. Colorado’s largest shopping mall, Park Meadows, is in the city. Home values are appreciating rapidly and are, on average, much more expensive than most of the other cities in the metro area. The median home price for homes that closed in in 2021 was $905,000, up from 39.2% year-over-year. 42% of the homes that sold in 2021 sold for more than $1 million, up from just 20% in 2020.
