Westminster

The City of Westminster, located in both Adams and Jefferson Counties, is home to just over 113,000 residents. Westminster is just about 20 minutes from downtown Denver and is located on the northwest side of the metro area between Arvada and Broomfield. The city covers 34 square miles and includes just over 3,100 acres of open space, 2,900 acres of parks, more than 150 miles of trails, seven recreational facilities and three golf courses. In 1985, Westminster became only the second municipality in Colorado to approve a sales tax specifically earmarked to acquire and preserve open space. Westminster is a suburban town with a variety of housing options. Residents and visitors to the city enjoy several wonderful dining, shopping, and entertainment locations such as the Westminster Promenade, The Orchard Town Center, the Butterfly Pavilion, Adventure Gold and Raceway, and Stanley Lake Regional Park. Residents love the location, community atmosphere and wonderful mountain views. This is a suburban city with a variety of housing options. Apartments, condos, townhomes and single-family homes all with close access to shops and restaurants and easy access to the major commuting routes of I-25 and Highway 36. Home values are rising, but the city is still more affordable than many of the metro area communities.
